 GDS will be holding two open days in September on Thursday the 13th and Friday 14th. We have a host of soil and rock apparatus on show demonstrate and our technical team on hand to answer any questions you may have. The list of apparatus on display is listed below.

13 Employees from GDS completed the South Downs Way (SDW) mountain bike ride last week and raised over £2,700 for Cancer Research UK in the process. The challenging 100 mile mountain bike route started in Winchester and ended at the white cliffs of Eastbourne. The GDS team tackled the SDW over two days which included over 11,500 feet of ascending hillsides. 

What a few weeks it’s been for exhibitions! GDS have attended six in total for soil and rock testing.

GDS Instruments have been awarded an “Unqualified Pass” (The top mark available) in their recent ISO 9001:2015 accreditation for Quality Management Systems. GDS joins the 10% of companies assessed by CQS to be awarded the Unqualified Pass mark.

GDS have manufactured a temperature controlled version for its popular Enterprise Level Dynamic Triaxial Testing System.

Matt Roughton, Associate Director of Operations at GDS was invited to give a talk to prospective apprentices about what employers look for when recruiting an apprentice at Basingstoke College of Technology (BCOT).

The technical note, starting on page 171 of the February 2018 issue, provides information on a proposed calibration routine for a GDS Hardin-type resonant column. In contrast, the GDS Stoke type resonant column has a much more industry wide agreed calibration procedure, principally due to the fact that it is a true fixed-free configuration.

Consolidation Constant Rate of Strain (CRS) apparatus is available with low pressure or high pressure cells. The CRS system now has the option to add temperature control to the apparatus.
