Mike Bulley, Head of Systems Support at GDS Instruments, recently visited Liberty University in Virginia to install a Triaxial Automated System (GDSTAS) with HKUST unsaturated upgrade.
This was GDS’ first installation at the university, with the apparatus being used to train students on the engineering behaviour of geomaterials. The GDSTAS was supplied with a 100mm Triaxial cell, de-aired water vacuum tank, pump and distribution panel. The HKUST upgrade was also installed allowing tests on unsaturated soils to be performed. We look forward to learning more about their research in the foreseeable future.
