GDS staff and family took part in this weekend’s London MoonWalk to raise money in aid of breast cancer. GDS’ team “The Fallen Madonna’s” consisted of Denise, Nicky, Michael, Linsay, Pam & Phil.
Arriving at the Moonwalk City at Clapham Common the team soaked up the atmosphere, put the finishing touches to their outfits and prepared for the midnight start. The 15 mile walk took the team from Clapham Common towards Battersea and into central London. With dropping temperatures and aching muscles the team were kept motivated by fire dancing displays and live bands along the route, provided by the ever enthusiastic volunteers.
The route took the team past The London Eye, Westminster Abbey, St Pauls Cathedral, Shakespears Globe, The Tate and Buckingham Palace (For the royal wave) before finishing back at Moonwalk City. The team all thoroughly enjoyed themselves, making it back in one piece and raising over £900.00 in the process – Well done everyone!
