Ben joined GDS in May 2006 from the University
of Reading. His background stems from the field of mobile robotics where
he has much expertise in Control Engineering, Hardware Design, Firmware
and Software development and the application of advanced machine
intelligence techniques (e.g. genetic algorithms and artificial neural
networks).
He is primarily concerned with research and development and is heavily
involved with the integration of modern, state-of-the-art, technologies
and algorithms into the next generation of GDS Products. This involves
Overall Systems Design, Analogue/Digital Electronics design, PCB layout
and Embedded Firmware, Software and Algorithm development.
Ben still maintains strong links with University of Reading and is a
visiting research fellow of the School of Systems Engineering where he
obtained both a first class honours degree in Cybernetics and Control
Engineering and was also awarded his PhD for his novel research in
machine intelligence applied to the field of mobile robotics. His
research interests are wide-spanning and include machine intelligence,
mobile robotics, advanced genetic algorithms and artificial neural
networks. |
