GDS Founder and
Chairman, prize-winning geotechnical author
Dr Bruce Menzies, has had
his new book, “Advanced Unsaturated Soil Mechanics and Engineering”,
published by Taylor & Francis. The book was written with
first author Professor Charles W.W. Ng of the Hong Kong University
of Science and Technology (HKUST). In 2005, Charles was Overseas
Fellow at Churchill College Cambridge. Charles and Bruce used this
opportunity to work on the book together. Charles and Bruce have
co-authored in the past.
This new book is dedicated to Prof Delwyn
G. Fredlund, unsaturated soil mechanics pioneer.
When Bruce was Visiting Scholar at HKUST
in 2003, they wrote the book “A short course in soil-structure
engineering of deep foundations, excavations and tunnels” (also with
co-author Noel Simons) published by Thomas Telford in 2004.
